Pleasant Hill Program Hits the Road in a Shiny New Van

This week our Pleasant Hill program received a new Ford Transit Van to help the people we serve access and connect with their communities. The van will make it easier for the program to take trips to parks, museums, shopping, and anywhere that the Pleasant Hill participants want to go!

This vehicle was chosen by the people we serve after discussions about what they wanted to see in our new ride. Now they will be able to choose their favorite places in our community to visit — without being dependent on bus routes! A vehicle helps us explore our community and be part of it, and we are so excited about this new resource for the Pleasant Hill program.

Future Ford of Concord helped us find the perfect van for us, and Teanna Jerkins and Jose Cobian, our program manager and assistant manager for Pleasant Hill, picked it up on Thursday along with Ian Bremner, our executive director.

The new van was made possible by special funding from the Regional Center of the East Bay and the State of California Department of Developmental Services. This funding supports our work to build up services that are centered on the individual goals of the people we support, and that help each person achieve the things that matter most to them.
