Ian Bremner

Founder and Executive Director


Ian Bremner is a lifelong supporter for people with disabilities.

He founded RES Success in 1994 out of a desire to provide a higher level of care and support than he saw available. Ian’s vision was to build a supportive environment that would treat people with kindness, compassion, and human dignity — services that would not be centered around control and restraint but around listening, meeting needs, and achieving goals.

Ian gathered the first people to be supported at RES from institutional environments around the Bay Area. He was successful in helping people reduce the duration, intensity, and frequency of harmful or destructive outbursts because of his dedication to listening to the people we serve and addressing the root causes of violent or self-harming behavior.

Over the years, Ian directed RES Success as it focused and expanded its services to comprise eight programs in Contra Costa County serving 220 people. We are part of a network of organizations making it possible for adults with IDD to live in homes and communities of their choice, pursue the goals that matter most to them, and build the lives that they find personally satisfying.
